ACC All Star Games by Crossfire Ministries

Every year for the last 28 years at the completion of the NCAA Basketball Tournament called “March Madness, Crossfire exhibition basketball team competes on the court against the seniors from Duke, North Carolina, Wake Forest, N.C State and Clemson in Asheville, NC.

Here is a little history about the annual event.

The Crossfire ACC All-star Classic began in 1994 when Duke University’s All American and College Player of the Year, Grant Hill, was a senior. Tim Duncan, Wake Forest All American and was College Player of the Year in 1997, played in the game. He went on to be San Antonio Spurs NBA MVP. JJ Redick, All American and College Player of the Year at Duke University in 2006, played in the game. Tyler Hansbrough, All American and College Player of the Year 2008 at University of North Carolina, played in the game along with other greats such as Danny Green, UNC Tarheels, Mason Plumlee, Duke University All American 2013, played in the game. Cam Johnson, UNC Standout, played in the game among a host of other ACC Standouts who have gone on to the NBA.

Over the years some of the nation’s best have participated in the annual event. Players from the ACC have included:  Wake Forest’s All American and current San Antonio Spurs NBA MVP Tim Duncan, North Carolina and former player for the Los Angeles Lakers player Shammond Williams who is now assistant coach at Tulane.  Also Duke University’s Trajon Langdon (Current European Pro), North Carolina standout and current Charlotte Bobcat’s center Brendan Haywood, Duke University’s 2006 player of the year and current Orlando Magic guard J.J Reddick, and former Duke Blue Devil and current Golden State Warrior DeMarcus Nelson.

NCAA College 2009 Player of the year and North Carolina All-American Tyler Hansbourough played back to back games in 09 at the Asheville Civic center in front of over 10,000 people. Crossfire won 1 and the ACC won 1. Hundreds made decisions for Jesus!

Most recently Crossfire’s 2012 ACC game featured Miles Plumlee of Duke who is now with the Pheonix Suns. Also in the 2012 game, Tyler Zeller of North Carolina, now playing with the Cleveland Cavaliers. The 2013 game featured N.C. State’s C.J. Leslie and Duke’s Mason Plumlee who was drafted by the Brooklyn Nets.

In 25 games, ACC has won 13 games and Crossfire 12. More importantly over 80,000 people have attended with thousands making decisions for the Lord Jesus Christ!
